Javed Ghani appointed new FBR chairman

The government removed FBR chairperson Noshin Javed Amjad and appointed Javed Ghani as the new FBR chairman. Sources said that the federal cabinet approved the appointment of Javed Ghani through circulation yesterday.

According to details, the government made major changes in the FBR, FBR chairperson Nosheen Javed Amjad was removed from the post and Javed Ghani was appointed as the new chairman of the FBR.

A notification has been issued for the appointment of Javed Ghani while Nosheen Javed has been posted as Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division.

It may be recalled that Nosheen Javed Amjad was posted in April this year. Noshin Javed is a Grade 22 Inland Revenue Service officer. Shabar Zaidi was on indefinite leave due to which Noshin Javed was acting chairperson.

It may be recalled that the Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Shabar Zaidi had gone on indefinite leave due to ill health, after which the government had started considering a new chairman FBR.

It may be recalled that while talking to senior journalists in Islamabad on May 6, 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan had confirmed the appointment of Shabar Zaidi as Chairman FBR, after which he was severely opposed by FBR insiders.
