Best Selling Cars in Pakistan - April 2022
The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has revealed their monthly sales data for April 2022. Thus, we have compiled a list of the top 10 best selling cars in Pakistan during the month April 2022. According to the data, the auto industry has sold a total of 22,370 vehicles in the last month.
This is a major drop compared to 27,131 sales of March, which means there was a decline of 18% in the vehicles sold. It is pertinent to mention that it is expected to get even worse as automakers keep hiking prices of their vehicles due to the constant devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee against US Dollar (USD to PKR).
It bears mentioning that non-PAMA members such as Changan, Morris Garages (MG), United Motors, etc. do not reveal their sales data, therefore, they are not included in the sales data provided by PAMA and we have not included them in the list of top 10 best selling vehicles in Pakistan during the month of April 2022.
Best Selling Cars in Pakistan – April 2022
1. Suzuki Alto
Suzuki Alto tops the list of best selling cars in Pakistan during the month of April 2022 due to its affordability and reliability in the entry level market. Suzuki Alto was able to sell 5,009 units in April compared to 9,814 units sold in March, which means total sales for the vehicle dropped by 49%.
The price of Suzuki Alto in Pakistan starts from Rs. 1,475,000 and goes all the way up to Rs. 1,951,000 for its top-of-the-line variant.
2. Suzuki Cultus
Suzuki Cultus is the only vehicle on this list to have sold more vehicles in April compared to March. According to the data, Suzuki Cultus was able to sell 1,745 units in the month of April compared to just 306 units in March, which is an increase of 470%. However, it bears mentioning that bookings for the vehicle were also suspended during March by the company, which means the lower sales figure for the month.
The price of Suzuki Cultus in Pakistan starts from Rs. 2,330,000 and goes all the way up to Rs. 2,762,000 for its top variant.
3. Suzuki Wagon R
Suzuki Wagon R makes the third spot on the list of top 10 best selling cars in Pakistan during the month of April 2022. According to the data, the vehicle sold 1,823 units in April compared to 2,014 units in March, which is a drop of 13% in total sales.
The price of Suzuki Wagon R in Pakistan starts from 2,084,000 and goes all the up to Rs. 2,399,000 for its top-of-the-line variant.
4. Suzuki Bolan
Suzuki Bolan also witnessed a massive drop in sales during month of April compared to March as the vehicle was only able to sell 860 units compared to 1,295 during the previous month. This means that total sales for Suzuki Bolan dropped by 13% in April compared to March.
The price of Suzuki Bolan in Pakistan Rs. 1,315,000 for its base model, while the top-of-the-line variant costs Rs. 1,415,000.
5. Suzuki Swift
The newly launched Suzuki Swift sold 2,273 units in April 2022, which put the vehicle at the fifth spot on the list of best selling cars in Pakistan during the month of April 2022. There is no previous data on the sale of of the new Suzuki Swift as it has just been launched in the country.
The price of Suzuki Swift in Pakistan starts from 2,774,000, while the top-of-the-line variant is sold for Rs. 3,298,000.
6. Toyota Corolla & Yaris
The best-selling vehicles from Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) are without a doubt the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris, which managed to sell 4,117 units in April. However, this is still a major drop from 5,395 units sold in March, which means it is a drop of 24% in total sales.
The price of Toyota Yaris in Pakistan starts from Rs. 3,039,000 and goes all the way up to Rs. 3,659,000, while the price of Toyota Corolla starts from Rs. 3,909,000 and goes all the way up to Rs. 4,899,000.
7. Toyota Fortuner and Hilux
Toyota also takes the next place on the list with its Toyota Fortuner and Hilux with total sales of 1658 units in April compared to 1,673 units sold in March. These vehicles did not suffer a huge loss in sales compared to other cars with just 1% difference between both months.
The price of Toyota Fortuner in Pakistan starts from Rs. 9,959,000 for the base variant, while the top-of-the-line variant is sold for Rs. 12,679,000. Likewise, the price of Toyota Hilux in Pakistan is Rs. 7,359,000 for the base variant with the top-of-the-line variant selling for Rs. 9,729,000.
8. Honda Civic and City
Honda managed to come at the eight spot on the list of the top 10 best selling vehicles in Pakistan during the month of April 2022. The company was able to sell 2,265 units of both these vehicles in April compared to 3,278 units sold in March, which means there was a drop of 31% in total sales.
The price of Honda City in Pakistan is Rs. 3,264,000 for the base variant and goes all the way up to Rs. 3,899,000 for the top-of-the-line variant. Meanwhile, the price of Honda Civic in Pakistan is Rs. 5,549,000 for the base model while the top-of-the-line model is sold for Rs. 6,649,000.
9. Honda BR-V
Honda BR-V managed to sell 364 units in April compared to 373 units in March, which is a drop of 2% in total sales. Honda BR-V has only one variant with a price in Pakistan of Rs. 4,249,000.
10. Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai Tucson made the tenth spot on the list of top 10 best selling vehicles in Pakistan during the month of April 2022. According to the data, the vehicle was able to sell 553 units in April compared to 576 units in March, which means it saw a drop in total sales of 4%.
The price of the Hyundai Tucson in Pakistan is Rs. 5,799,000 for the base model, while the top-of-the-line model is sold for Rs. 6,299,000.
This was the list of top 10 best selling cars in Pakistan during the month of April, which was dominated by Suzuki and it is no surprise since the company holds the entry level market with its hatch-backs allowing it to make more sales as not everyone is able to afford a sedan or SUV.
