Sania Mirza decides to retire in 2022 because of her 'three-year-old son Izhaan'

Sania Mirza, wife of Shoaib Malik is taking retirement from tennis. Sania Mirza announced her retirement after getting defeated in the first round of Australian Open Women Doubles. She claimed that this would be the last season of her career. Talking about the reasons behind her decision she told that there are certain things that have compelled her to make this decision.

She is of the view that it’s quite simple that she wouldn’t be playing anymore. Her recovery is getting prolonged and of course, she has to think about her three years old son. She has to take him with her everywhere and in this COVID scenario, she cannot put her son in danger for the sake of her career. Sania openly talked about her health issues.

Her knee injuries are hurting her and it’s taking much time. She went in adding that her body is not supporting her and she cannot tell any reason for her bad performance. Age factor is playing a vital role in all these scenarios. Sania Mirza has achieved a lot of success through her performances and even people across the border love her. Sania Mirza has a huge fan following and it’s all her devotion towards her son that she’s taking a huge step to give up her career.

Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza earlier in an interview told that they always make sure that Sania or either Shoaib one of them would manage to be with him when the other is away for work.
