The peace situation in Afghanistan is getting unpredictable over time with the arrival of the Taliban. Females living in the country are now in the utmost state of terror. People want to fly anywhere out of the country to save the future of their children. This mass migration is the same as years back when the Taliban arrived first. The popular Indian actress Warina Hussain was among those refugee families who left Afghanistan 20 years ago. She was a child when her family migrated and settled in India. Now when the condition is almost the same in Afghanistan, the actress recalled her experience of being a refugee. She also shared her concerns for her people living in her native country.

Warina is a popular emerging Indian actress and model. She gained popularity through Cadbury ads with her cute performance. Later she worked in various modeling platforms. In 2018 she started her acting career with the Indian film “Love Yatri” opposite brother-in-law of Sulman Khan. She is a hardworking actress and model however stays away from social media platforms.

Warina belongs to both Afghanistan and Iraq in her ethnicity. Her father was Iraqi while her mother was Afghani. However, she spends her childhood in Afghanistan. 20 years ago when the Taliban occupation started, she flees to India with her family. In 1999 she first appeared in public where she interviewed about the situation in Afghanistan and shared her story of being a refugee. She started her modeling career in 2013 in India and soon shifted to acting. In an interview, Indian actress Warina Hussain revealed that:

Similar to the current condition, 20 years back in Afghanistan was a difficult time for me and my family. I and my left home and flee in turmoil. It is now heartbreaking to see other families losing their homes.

The actress revealed that although she left her country in childhood still she has memories of her hometown. According to her, she has memories of family picnics, native food, and mesmerizing springs in Kabul. She is hopeful that all these things are still the same in that place. However, the air would not be that refreshing as it now contains the breath of suppression, She added.

Warina on the Current Situation of Afghanistan

Love Yatri actress also shared her gratitude to the host country. According to her, she feels lucky that India accepted her and her family. But she is fearful that now the refugees are not that fortunate. These days it is difficult to settle down as refugees in neighboring countries. It is hard for host countries to provide accommodation to thousands of refugees these days. However, it is harder to leave the country in hope of better life. It is noticeable here that many countries like Turkey, Germany, and Pakistan are not willing to take more refugees as they already sheltering millions of them. Most of the refugees fleeing these days don’t even know where they are going. Still, they want to leave the country in hope of a better and protected future.

She also said that in 20 years the country tried to establish itself again. But all went in vain due to the reoccupation of the Taliban. Now Afghanistan has reverted to 20 years ago when all of this chaos was started. Her main concern is the females living in Afghanistan. According to Warina, under the Taliban occupation, women are just like fertility machines. They have no rights or respect. Seeing the situation she is predicting that another mass migration is expected. Because afghan people want to live peacefully. She is also praying for her people in Afghanistan.

While sharing her life experience she added that being a refugee is never easy. Although she has achieved fame in her career still she can recall events when people used to troll her. Many filmmakers in the industry were also not willing to give her work because she was a refugee. In various interviews, in past, the actress revealed how people commented negatively on her. The people used to call her a person from a terrorist country. Some used to say to her that she came from the land of bombs. Many told her that the people of her country are conservative.

Answering those trolls in her interview actress revealed that Afghanistan was also a progressive country once. She recalled that her grandmother used to wear skirts and riding bikes with her grandfather. Her grandparents also used to attend music events and concerts. She also talked about the fondness of Indian movies among Afghan people. The emergence of the Taliban not only changed politics but everything in the country.
