Punjab and KP Government Announce To Reopen Educational Institutes
Punjab and KP government have announced to reopen the educational institutes for students of grades 9 to 12. The public and private schools will resume the physical classes from 19th April 2021 on Mondays and Thursdays. Earlier the meeting of the national command and operation Centre was held in which it had been decided to close the educational institutes due to the rapid upsurge in the number of coronavirus cases. According to the education minister, the classes from grade prep to eight will be resumed on 28th April 2021 while the students of 9th, 10th,11th, and 12th classes have to attend the classes from 19th April 2021.
Statement of Murad Raas
The announcement has been made by the Punjab education minister, Murad Raas and the minister said that the classes will be resumed in the various districts such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, TT Singh, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, Sialkot, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sheikhupura, and DG Khan. Moreover, the matric date sheet 2021 and intermediate date sheet 2021 have been announced for all Punjab boards and SSC and HSSC exams will be held from 25th May 2021 and 3rd July 2021 respectively. The federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood has clarified that the examinations for classes 9-12, O, and A-Level will be held according to the announced schedule.
Decision Of KP Government
Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Shahram Khan Tarakai has also announced that classes 9-12 would resume from 19th April 2021 across the province. The minister said that there will be strict implementation of SOPs in the educational institutes to ensure the safety of students. The rest of the classes will be resumed from 27th April 2021. KP education department has issued the notification in this regard and announced that the public and private institutes that include cadet colleges, model schools, madaris, academies, and tuition centers in the Districts of Peshawar, Kohat, Swat, Malakand, Dir Lower, Abbottabad, Haripur, Chitral Upper, Chitral Lower, Mansehra, Dir Upper, Buner, Bajaur, Khyber, Shangla, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, DI Khan, and Bannu will commence classes for grade-9 to grade-12 from 19 April 2021. It has been furthermore said that the districts where educational institutes have not been shut down will hold classes as per the directives issued by the KP government.
