Sindh Education Minister Says Schools Will Remain Open In Sindh




Sindh education minister, Saeed Ghani has said that schools will remain open in Sindh with 50% attendance. The minister added that the situation of the coronavirus is better in Sindh as compared to the other provinces such as Punjab and Balochistan so there is no need to completely close down the schools. The educational institutes are directed to allow 50% of students to attend the schools on alternate days so that their academic year can be saved and they can complete the course work before the conduction of the exams. The minister has made this announcement after the meeting of the national command and operation center that was held on 24th March to decide the closure of the educational institutes due to the upsurge in the number of coronavirus cases. He clarified that the students will come to the schools as per the schedule announced. 

NCOC Meeting

In the meeting of NCOC, it has been decided that the educational institutes in the ten districts of Punjab such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, and Sheikhupura will remain closed till 11th April 2021. Earlier it had been announced that the schools, colleges, and universities will be closed from 15th March 2021 to 28th March 2021. Now the government has taken the decision according to the ongoing situation of the coronavirus. 

Closure of Schools In Sindh

Saeed Ghani has said that the provincial government is continuously monitoring the COVID-situation across the province. The schools with the higher number of coronavirus cases had been closed as the cases were reported in large numbers. Moreover, he has directed the students to follow the SOPs in order to protect them from the coronavirus while attending schools. It has been further added that the schools with the increased number of COVID-19 cases will be closed while all the other schools will remain open and during the smart lockdown, the schools will be shut down only in selected areas.
