HEC Directs The Universities To Operate According To Issued Guidelines




The higher education commission of Pakistan has directed the universities to operate according to the issued guidelines. The universities in the COVID-19 high-risk areas have been closed so the HEC has issued the notification in this regard and asked the universities to conduct the online classes so that the course can be completed on time. Moreover, it is also notified to the candidates that the ongoing and pre-scheduled exam will be held according to the announced schedule with the proper implementation of coronavirus SOPs devised by the government. There will be no delay in the conduction of the exams so the students must be prepared to appear in the exams. 

Implementation Of SOPs

The higher education commission has ensured that universities will follow the health and safety protocols for the protection of students and staff members. Moreover, it has been said that that students must wear marks, maintain social distance, and regularly use sanitizers. The buildings of the universities will be disinfected to minimize the risk of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. 

Decision of NCOC

The meeting of the national command and operation center was held on 24th March to review the COVID-19 situation. After the meeting, the federal minister for education and professional training had announced that the educational institutes in the coronavirus hotspot areas will remain closed till 11th April 2021. The minister clarified that the exams of the matric and intermediate will be held according to the announced schedule however the O level exams have been rescheduled after 15 May. The decision has been taken by the Cambridge international examinations due to the prevailing situation of a pandemic. The NCOC meeting will again be held on 7th April to analyze the overall situation and to decide the reopening of the educational institutes.
