However, not all cases of social media interactions have proved successful and, in some cases, led to online scams.

An FIA spokesman said that a Nigerian citizen was arrested for looting a man from Swat.

The Nigerian man promised to marry the Swati man while posing as a woman from the United States by using social media accounts.

The accused had allegedly demanded money from the Swati man for making investments in the South Asian country besides making a promise to marry him.

It emerged that the ‘foreigner’ had reportedly promised the Swati man to send $1.5 million to Pakistan.

After being deceived by the accused, the Swati man had submitted millions of rupees to nine different accounts.

After realizing that he had been a victim of cyber fraud, the Swati man contacted the FIA and registered a complaint.

According to the FIA spokesman, the Nigerian man was arrested after arriving in Peshawar while being an agent of the alleged US woman.
