Following Sushant Singh’s mysterious death, the entire Bollywood has been shaken to the core by a drug scandal involving many big names, including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, and now Karan Johar.

The Narcotics Control Bureau believes that the drug nexus case is connected to Singh’s death case. The bureau is looking to re-examine Karan Johar’s 2019 party video with the drug angle.

The party was attended by Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Zoya Akhtar, and others.

Reports suggest that the investigating agency might summon the actors for interrogation. The statements of the actors will be recorded through email and their lawyers.

It should be noted that former MLA, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, had filed a complaint with the NCB, appealing to probe into an alleged ‘drug party’ hosted by Karan Johar in 2019.

Karan took to Instagram to release an official statement in the context of all the allegations, attempting to shut down the reports of drug consumption at his house party.

Karan Johar’s statement read:

No narcotics substance was consumed at the party. I WOULD LIKE TO STATE UNEQUIVOCALLY ONCE AGAIN THAT I DO NOT CONSUME NARCOTICS AND I DO NOT PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE CONSUMPTION OF ANY SUCH SUBSTANCE.

The esteemed film director further clarified his involvement in the drug case and stated:

Anubhav Chopra is not an employee of Dharma Productions. He was briefly associated with us for only two months in the 2nd assistant director’s capacity for a film in 2011-12 and as an associate director for a short film in January 2013. Mr. Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment (a sister concern of Dharma Productions) in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on a contract basis for a project which eventually did not materialize.
