PIA flight could not land in Karachi due to heavy rain

Due to torrential rains in Karachi, a PIA flight from Lahore and Islamabad to Karachi was able to land after a 40-minute detour, while another failed to land at Karachi Airport due to fears of running out of fuel. The flight later on landed in Sukkur because the fuel was about to end.

According to civil aviation sources, after the rains stopped, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi has been reopened for flights.

According to aviation sources, flight PK301 from Lahore to Karachi tried to land at Jinnah International Airport but it was raining heavily in Karachi at that time and due to bad weather, the pilot flew the plane back.

According to civil aviation sources, the Airbus A320 then flew several times around the airport but left when could not find way.
