The Legend of Maula Jutt becomes the first Pakistani film to release in India after 11 years

Blockbuster Pakistani movie, The Legend of Maula Jutt, is releasing on December 30 in India. This is the first movie from Pakistan in more than a decade that would release in the country.

The Legend of Maula Jutt has really improved the game for Pakistani cinemas. Director Bilal Lashari’s movie is an adaptation of the 1979’s classic Maula Jutt.

The film would be released in India, Punjab, and certain specific cinemas in Delhi as revealed by the chief programming officer of INOX Leisure, Rajendar Singh Jyala. This would mark a cultural breakthrough in the tense ties between the neighboring countries.

Previously, another similar Indian multiplex chain named PVR cinemas shared that the movie would be released on its website. However, the post was taken down due to unrevealed reasons.

The Legend of Maula Jutt which was released in October has become the highest-grossing Pakistani movie of all time. It was an introduction to Pakistani cinema on the international front. The movie has a running time of 150 minutes and revolves around themes of revenge and honor. It also stars the industry’s leading actors like Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Mahira Khan.
