Press conference on Arshad Sharif's murder given by DG ISPR - Latest Posts

An icon of Pakistani journalism, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, is Arshad Sharif.

At a press conference in Rawalpindi, the director general of the ISPR stated that the media discussion was meant to shed light on Arshad Sharif’s murder and its circumstances.

Babar Iftikhar stated that the purpose of this press conference is to present the facts in a way that allows “facts, fiction, and opinion to be differentiated” and that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had been specifically informed of the press conference’s sensitivity.

He referred to Sharif as an icon of journalism in Pakistan and said that his death was an unfortunate incident. He mentioned that the late journalist’s family included military veterans and said he had always felt the suffering of martyred officers.

Arshad Sharif, a seasoned journalist, was a leading news anchor in Pakistan. Arshad’s final appearance on national television was on the ARY News program Powerplay. He had previously worked for some of the top newspapers and news organizations in the nation. He received the Presidential Pride of Performance Award in 2019 for his outstanding journalism.

One of the most popular talk shows in Pakistan was Arshad’s “Powerplay,” and viewers adored the way he used solid proof to support his tales of the corrupt practices of the ruling class.

The family of the martyr has asked for a legal investigation and open hearings during the investigation to uncover the “truth” behind his murder. At 2:00 pm on Thursday, the funeral prayer will take place at Faisal Masjid in Islamabad (today).
