Following the conclusion of voting for the by-elections for three seats in the Punjab Assembly and eight seats in the National Assembly across the nation, the counting of votes has begun.
Three provinces had by-elections, leaving three National Assembly seats and three Provincial Assembly seats open in Punjab. Elections will be held for three National Assembly seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and candidates will vie for two National Assembly seats in Sindh.
The by-elections are taking place in the National Assembly constituencies of Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Nankana Sahib, Malir, Korangi, and Multan, while the constituencies for the Punjab Assembly are Sheikhupura, Khanewal, and Bahawalnagar.
A total of 101 candidates from different political parties, including independent candidates, ran in the elections; 52 were from Punjab, 33 were from Sindh, and 16 were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; in each of these constituencies, there were roughly 4.5 registered voters. 1,434 polling places had been set up in Punjab, with 979 in KP and 340 in Karachi.
