Eminent Islamic scholar Mufti Menk arrives in Pakistan to aid flood-victims




KARACHI: Renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Ismail Menk has arrived in Pakistan to take part in flood relief efforts as devastating floods wreaked havoc across the country, turning one-third of the land into inland seas.

The well-known preacher, who is adored by millions of Muslims worldwide, arrived in Sindh, the area most impacted by the enormous flood, and started working there to aid those in need.

The scholar, who was born and reared in Zimbabwe, is shown visiting a Sindh, Jhuddo, area that has been impacted by flooding in one of the videos on his official Instagram.

He also appealed to his followers to donate for flood victims, saying “devastation and unimaginable situation. Pakistan needs us!! donate a tent! give comfort to a family! £100 per tent! please do whatever you can with any reliable charity or partner for those affected. we will have to assist for the next few years.”

Athletes, musicians, and social media stars have all called for help in the wake of devastating floods in Pakistan. Ertugurl famed actor Celal Al, earlier, also travelled to Pakistan to help flood victims.

Due to the “climate catastrophe” that began with relentless rains in June, over 1,500 people died and an estimated 30 million people are now homeless as a result of the worst rains and floods in recent memory.
