Toyota Thailand has finally revealed the all new 4th Generation Toyota Yaris 2023 model in Thailand and offers a more updated design as the older model had become quite outdated in terms of looks compared to competition from cars like the Honda City’s 7th Generation.
Platform
The latest iteration of the Toyota Yaris 2023 carries the chassis code D92A / AC100 and it is built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform and comes as a replacement of the XP150 model. It bears mentioning that DNGA platform is also used in several other Daihatsu and Toyota vehicles meant to be sold in the emerging markets
Design / Exterior
Furthermore, the Toyota Yaris 2023 clearly takes design inspiration from the new Corolla and features a sharp front hood, sleek headlamps L-shaped DRLs, which are mounted just beneath the upper grille near the bonnet shut line. Meanwhile, the bumper offers a very aggressive look as well.
Meanwhile, the side profile looks looks proportionate and it is complemented by a large dual-cut alloy wheels, while the rear is equipped with large tail lights that are connected with a prominent strip in the centre. In short, the Yaris 2023 offers a very aggressive yet elegant look and it will please most buyers.
Interior
In terms of the interior design, the Toyota Yaris 2023 offers revised look with a new dashboard layout, which is horizontally aligned but remains driver-focused. Furthermore, the dashboard comes with a combination of hard plastic on the upper portion and soft touch material in the lower areas that are accessible to the driver and passenger.
In terms of dimensions, the new Toyota Yaris 2023 is slightly larger than its predecessor as it measures at 1,425 mm long, 1,740 mm wide and 1,480 mm tall making it 5 mm longer, 10 mm wider and 5 mm taller than the old model. However, the biggest change comes at the wheelbase that has been increased to 2,620mm, which is 70mm more than its predecessor.
Engine and Transmission
The new Toyota Yaris 2023 comes with a 1.2L 3NR-VE, a VVTi DOHC Naturally Aspirated 4-cylinder engine across all variants, which is in-line with the trend being followed by other manufacturers like Honda with their new City 7th Generation.
The engine is capable of producing 93hp at 6000RPM and 110Nm of torque at 4000RPM, while mated with a Constant Variable Transmission (CVT) with three driving modes, including Eco, Normal, Sport.

Furthermore, the high-end variants also support Toyota Safety Sense, which offers several more features, including rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, 360-degree camera, autonomous emergency braking, pre-collision warning, and more.
Price
The price of the new Toyota Yaris 2023 in Thailand is 539,000 baht (around PKR 3,421,439/-) for the base variant, while the luxury variant (Premium Luxury) costs 689,000 baht ( around PKR 4,374,900/). However, we should not expect the launch of the all new Toyota Yaris 2023 as local companies are already struggling keeping up with production due to the current economic crisis.
