Turkey condemns Nupur Sharma's blasphemous remarks

Former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma has insulted the Holy Prophet (PBUH), after which India has been facing a strong reaction from Muslim countries.

Recently, another Muslim country, Turkey, has also reacted to the BJP leader’s blasphemous statement. Turkish ruling party vice-chairman Omar Salek has condemned the Indian leader’s blasphemous statement.

According to Turkish media, Omar Salek said that the ruling party of India strongly condemns the blasphemous statement of the BJP official. He said that the statement of the Indian official was highly insulting not only to India but also to the Muslims of the world.

He said that the Indian government should take necessary steps against the growing Islamophobia in their country. Omar Salek, vice chairman of the Turkish ruling party, said the Indian government should ensure the religious freedom of Muslims in their country.

It may be recalled that suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma was suspended from the BJP on June 5 for allegedly making insulting remarks against the Prophet of Islam.

BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma had made blasphemous remarks on a TV channel in honor of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

On the other hand, India and Muslim countries are protesting against the Indian leader’s insult to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and a ‘Boycott India’ campaign has been launched in several Arab countries.
