Here’s Why Sidhu Moosewala’s New Song Has Been Removed From YouTube
The new song of deceased Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, has been removed by YouTube from its platform in India. However, its still available to watch in other parts of the world.
The song titled SYL started trending on number one YouTube in no time. It has so far garnered 29 million views in just four days. This is the first which has been released on YouTube following the brutal murder of Sidhu Moosewala.

So, why has it been removed from YouTube? As the song’s name suggests – Satluj Yamuna Link Canal (SYL) – which has been a bone of contention between Punjab and Haryana for a long time.
The song also mentions the 1984 riots, militancy, Sikh prisoners and the flag hoisting at the Red Fort during the farmer’s protest.
SYL has been removed by YouTube after receiving an official request from the Indian government. The video streaming platform’s spokesperson did issue a statement about the song’s removal, however, he did not mention the exact reason for it.
