Ibrar ul Haq’s response:
The Pakistani singer and politician took to his Twitter account to share that he has not sold his song to any Bollywood movie. He also threatened legal action to claim damages.
Abrar also urged Karan Johar not to copy songs. He added that it is his sixth song which has been copied and it will not be allowed at all.
I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all.@DharmaMovies @karanjohar

MovieBox response:
Responding to Abrar ul Haq’s claim, MovieBox – one of the biggest music labels of UK – said, “Nach Panjaban has been officially licensed for it to be included in the Film “JugJugg Jeeyo” by @TSeries. @karanjohar & @DharmaMovies have the legal rights to use this song in their film and the tweet by @AbrarUlHaqPK earlier today is defamatory and completely unacceptable.”

Netizens have expressed their disappointment over their favourite bhangra song getting stolen. Here’s how Twitter reacted:
Bollywood is quick to ban Pakistani artists, but still keeps lifting songs from Pakistan and ruining them. This time its Nach Punjaban in the #JugJuggJeeyoTrailer 🤦♂️#JugJuggJeeyo

Layers of disappointment to Nach Punjaban in JugJugg Jeeyo trailer:
Why not an original composition?
If you were going to use it, why not keep Abrar Ul Haq’s voice?
If you weren’t going to keep his voice, why not name him in the credits?
Shame because I like the trailer otherwise— Haroon Rashid (@iHaroonRashid) May 22, 2022
