Pakistan, Turkey to co-produce series on the life of Muslim General Salahuddin al-Ayubi
The entertainment industries of Turkey and Pakistan are set to collaborate on a fantastic project. According to media reports, the two are in works to produce a television series on the life of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi – a revered Muslim general popularly known in the West as Saladin.
Pakistan’s Ansari & Shah Films have extended an offer to the Turkish producer Emre Konuk, owner of Turkey’s Akli Films, to join hands on the project. Sources state that Emre Konuk has wholeheartedly welcomed the offer.

The Turkish producer took to Twitter on Saturday to announce that the two big names of the entertainment industry have reached an agreement, and the project has now been set in motion.
He said:
A happy news on a blessed Friday night! Contract signed between Akli Films and Ansari&Shah Films about ‘Sultan Selahaddin Ayyubi’. I wish that the joint international project is beneficial to our country and our art world.

It seems that the Turkish director seems excited to be part of the project. In a statement, Konuk said:

About the television series – Salahuddin al-Ayyubi
According to details, the drama series will feature actors from both Turkey and Pakistan. However, the series will be shot in Turkey entirely.
Sources state that the drama will have three seasons, and it will be based on the life of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi – the brave man who defeated the crusaders and recaptured Jerusalem in 1187.
