The Federal Education Minister Says O Level Exams To Be Commenced After 10th May




The federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood has said O level and IGCSE exams will be held from 10th May 2021. Earlier it had been announced that the Cambridge international examination (CIE) will conduct the exams after 15th May but now the schedule of the exams has been changed. The education minister took his Twitter and shared the notification regarding this matter. The meeting of the stakeholders was held in which it has been decided to take the exams from the second week of May so the students are informed to prepare for the exams. The minister had previously said that the annual exams of matric, intermediate, and Cambridge will be held according to the issued schedule. He added that the matric and intermediate exams will be commenced in May and June.

Commencement Of Exams

The CEO of Cambridge assessment international education has also shared the commencement date of the O level and IGCSE exams. She also appreciated the efforts of the government of Pakistan to make the progress with their education. It has been also said that by changing the schedule of the examinations an equivalence will be provided to the students to appear in the exams and the students will have a better opportunity to show what they have learned from their coursework

Announcement By Cambridge

Previously many students had demanded to postpone the A and O level exams due to the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. After which the federal education minister said that he will discuss the issue with the relevant bodies regarding the postponement of exams. According to the statement issued by Cambridge, the A level exams will be held as timetabled whereas the O level exams will be conducted as per the new schedule. According to the earlier announced exam schedule, these exams were scheduled to hold on 26th April 2021 and AS and A level exams were scheduled to be conducted in late April.
