Sindh Closes All Educational Institutes Due To Third Wave Of COVID-19




The Sindh government has announced to close all the educational institutes across the province. The decision has been taken due to the rapid increase in the number of cases of coronavirus. The announcement has been made by the Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab that announced about the closure of the schools, colleges, and universities. He furthermore said that the offices will also operate with only 20% staff so that the spread of COVID-19 can be minimized. The essential staff members will be only called in the office while the rest of the staff members will work from home.

The decision of the Sindh Government

Earlier the meeting of the provincial task force on coronavirus was held in which the situation of the pandemic was briefed. The meeting was chaired by CM Murad Ali Shah chaired and various decisions had been taken by considering the ongoing situation of the coronavirus. According to the government officials the inter-provincial transport in Sindh will remain closed from 29th April 2021. During the meeting, the health department submitted the report regarding the participants of coronavirus situation across the province. Moreover, the Sindh government will also seek help from the army for the proper implementation of SOPs.

School Education Department

The school education department has also issued a notification about the closure of public and private schools. According to the notification, the schools will remain closed in the several districts of Punjab that include Lahore, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Bukhar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Toba Tek Singh. The Punjab government has issued the directives to shut down the schools in the coronavirus hotspot areas that have more than 5% coronavirus positivity rate.
