Allama Iqbal Open University Postpones Exams Of Autumn Semester 2020
Allama Iqbal Open University has postponed the exams for autumn semester 2020. The university has taken this decision due to the third wave of coronavirus pandemic. According to the announcement made by the AIOU controller of examinations the university has postponed the exams of Associate Degree in Commerce, Associate Degree in education, B.Ed, BBA, BS Accounting and Finance, Associate Degree in Human Resource Management, Associate Degree in Banking and Marketing, and BS Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode programs exams after the consultations with the regional offices amid the restrictions imposed in the wake of an increasing number of coronavirus cases.
Autumn semester 2020 Exams
It has been notified to the candidates that the exams have been delayed till Eid ul Fitr. The revised schedule for the commencement of exams will be announced soon by the university officials. Earlier the Allama Iqbal Open university had issued the exam schedule of Associate Degree, B.Ed, BBA, BS Accounting, and BS ODL programs and as per the date sheet the exams were scheduled to be held from 30th April 2021 and will end on 18th June 2021. The university has also dispatched the roll number slips to the registered students. Now, these exams will be held as per the new schedule provided by the university.
Decision of Government
The Punjab education minister, Murad Raas has also announced to shut down the educational institutes in the various districts of Punjab. Moreover, the classes of matric and intermediate have also been suspended due to the ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic. Previously it a been announced that the classes of grades 9 to 12 will be resumed as the board authorities had issued the exam schedule for SSC and HSSC. But now according to the new notification issued by the school education department, the schools have been closed again.
