KP Closes Educational Institutes In Several Districts
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa has closed educational institutes in various districts. The KP government has taken this decision due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases. The KP education minister, Shahram Tarakai said that the schools, colleges, and universities in the districts of Abbottabad, Khyber, Shangla, Dir Upper, Haripur, and Bajaur will remain closed till 11th April 2021. The decision is applicable to the public and private educational institutes located in the mentioned areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa.
Closure Of Educational Institutes
The education minister clarified that the students will not be called to the schools due to any reason during the closure period. However, the teachers can be called to discuss the academic matters for the completion of the course work of the students. Besides the management staff can also attend the respective institutions according to the requirement of the institute. However, the teachers and staff members have to follow the SOPs while attending the school for the preparation of the assignment of the students.
Decision of NCOC
The meeting of the national command and operation center was held on 24th March 2021 after which the federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood announced that the educational institutes in the coronavirus hotspot areas will remain closed till 11th April 2021. The review session will be again held on 7th April 2021 to analyze the situation of the coronavirus and to take the decision regarding the reopening of the educational institutes. Earlier it had been announced that the schools, colleges, and universities will remain open in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa as the situation of the coronavirus is better in these two provinces as compared to Punjab. Moreover, it has been said that the annual exams of matric and intermediate will be held according to the issued schedule by the board authorities.
