Lahore drowned in water after rains
After heavy rains in Lahore, highways and roads in different places have started to look like ponds. The streets are drowned in water.
Overnight rains started falling in different parts of Lahore which continued intermittently till morning. The rains were so heavy that low-lying areas and roads were submerged.
In many areas, water has seeped into homes, while other areas and nursing colleges, including the general hospital’s pulmonology and psychiatry, have begun to look like ponds.
Vehicles also sank in the water, making it extremely difficult for citizens to get around.
In addition, water is also stored in the underpass under construction near Firdous Market.
The highest rainfall of 189 mm was recorded in Lakshmi Chowk, 174 mm in Tajpura and 160 mm in Gulshan-e-Ravi.
According to WASA spokesman the Lakshmi and Qartaba Chowks have been cleared. It is expected to have continuous rains in Lahore tonight .
