Army Chief meets Saudi Deputy Defense Minister

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is on an important official visit to Saudi Arabia where he is holding meetings with Saudi government and military officials.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman in the presence of Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Head of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Defense cooperation, security in the region and issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

Earlier in the day, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also met with Saudi Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyaz bin Hamid and Commander of the Saudi Joint Forces Lieutenant General Fahad.

It should be noted that the recent visit of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to Saudi Arabia is very important.

In an interview recently, Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that if a meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers was not convened on Kashmir, Pakistan would be forced to convene a meeting of friendly countries willing to help the oppressed Kashmiris.

Opposition parties have strongly criticized the foreign minister’s remarks, and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif has responded by saying that the foreign minister’s statement on Saudi Arabia was irresponsible and should be apologized for.

On the other hand, the Saudi government has now withdrawn one billion dollars out of the three billion dollars given to Pakistan, which has also been confirmed by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

“The Corona virus has put a lot of pressure on the Saudi economy. The way oil prices have fallen is a historical fact. It has affected their economy. They have understood our difficulties and We have to understand their problems. We were present for them yesterday and we are still present today.
