73rd Independence Day was celebrated in the country with great enthusiasm
In the light of the vision of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, today marks the 73rd anniversary of the country’s independence.
Today, the day began with special prayers after Fajr prayers in mosques across the country for the country’s progress, unity, peace and prosperity, as well as for the success of the long struggle of the Kashmiri people.
At the beginning of the day, 31 cannons were saluted in the federal capital while 21 cannons were saluted in the provincial capitals and sirens were also sounded, after which the atmosphere resounded with the slogans of Takbir Allah hu Akbar.
Cadets of Pakistan Naval Academy have taken over the duties of honorary guards at the Mazaar of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan in Karachi.
Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy Commander Mushtaq Ahmed was the chief guest of the function and also inspected the guards.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail also reached Mazar-e-Quaid where they laid wreaths at Mazar-e-Quaid and prayed for the country.
A guard change ceremony was held at the shrine of Hakim-ul-Amat Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore in which General Officer Commanding Lahore participated as the chief guest.
Celebrations were held across the country to celebrate Independence Day in grand style.
On Independence Day, every street, every neighborhood, small and big highways were beautifully decorated. Look at the spring of green crescent flags. Houses, private and government buildings were beautifully decorated with electric lamps and flags.
Celebrations and programs were organized to pay homage to those who sacrificed their lives in the independence movement, and rallies were also held to show solidarity.
