Pervez Musharraf protected the central character of the Jakarta embassy sale
Former ambassador Major General (retd) Syed Mustafa Anwar, a key figure in the reference to the sale of the Pakistani embassy building in Jakarta, was protected by then-President Pervez Musharraf.
A reference has been filed against the former ambassador for illegally selling the Pakistani embassy building in Jakarta.
NAB Rawalpindi has filed a reference in the accountability court against former ambassador to Indonesia Major General (retd) Mustafa Anwar Hussain.
According to the reference, Mustafa Anwar Hussain illegally sold the embassy building in Jakarta and the accused caused a loss of 1.32 million dollar to the national exchequer.
The NAB reference states that Mustafa Anwar Hussain issued the advertisement for sale of the building without the approval of the Ministry and he committed misuse of powers under Section Nine A6 of the NAB Ordinance.
