List of influential Muslim personalities released, Imran Khan declared ‘Man of the Year’
ISLAMABAD: A list of 500 influential Muslim personalities has been released this year in which Prime Minister Imran Khan has been declared Man of the Year.
Jordan’s The Muslim 500 has released a list of the world’s 500 most influential people, including Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, renowned religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani, Maulana Tariq Jamil, Maulana Ilyas Qadri, Javed Ghamdi and Malala Yousafzai.
The first 50 personalities belong to religious scholars and heads of state, while 450 personalities belong to 13 categories, including political, social and media.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman are also on the list.
Apart from them, Balqis Edhi, Abida Parveen, Sharmeen Obaid Chanay and Muneeba Mazari are also among the 500 influential Muslim personalities of 2020.
The names of Prof. Ata-ur-Rehman and Prof. Akbar S. Ahmed are also included in the list.
Also on the list are Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatullah Khamenei and Malaysia’s Mahathir Mohamad.
Rashida Talib, a Palestinian-born US Congress woman, has also been named the Muslim Women’s Personality of the Year.
