Attack on famous Afghan actress Saba Sahar
Leading Afghan actress and director Saba Sahar was injured in an assassination attempt in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
According to Saba sahar’s husband, she was on her way to work when three assailants opened fire on her car in west of Kabul.
Afghanistan’s first female director and 44-year-old actress was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately after the attack, where she is being treated.
Two guards of the actress were also injured in the attack while no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
It should be noted that Saba Sahar is one of the leading actresses in Afghanistan and besides being a film director, she is also very active for women’s rights.
Amnesty International has expressed concern over the attack on the actress, saying that the increase in attacks on actors, political activists and human rights activists in Afghanistan is alarming.
