SBCA is responsible for illegal constructions around the airport says Imran Ismail
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) is responsible for illegal construction of buildings around Karachi Airport.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail visited Burns Ward of Civil Hospital and inspected three domestic workers injured in the plane crash.
Talking to media on the occasion, Governor Sindh said that no one can be blamed at this time, the report will be discussed, SBCA is responsible for the construction of buildings around the airport, all these buildings are illega and are being made, Chief Minister Sindh should take action.
He said that Rs 5.5 lakh would be given to the injured on the directive of the Prime Minister, all the houses affected in the accident would be repaired by the federal government and other property damage would also be compensated.
On the other hand, the Sindh government has raised objections to the investigation team of the plane crash.
Provincial Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that the inquiry committee should be disbanded and a new team should be formed which would include representatives of PALPA, Airbus, International Pilots Organization and International Civil Aviation.
Saeed Ghani said that Sindh Building Control Authority should be included in the investigation but also civil aviation which allows construction around the airport.
It may be recalled that on May 22, a PIA plane coming from Lahore to Karachi crashed into the population a few seconds away from the runway, killing 97 people, including the crew, while two others miraculously survived.
