Sarfaraz Ahmed Has Been Dropped From Central Contract’s A categaory
Former Pakistan cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been dropped from A category of new central contract.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to reduce the players’ benefits and compensation in the Central Contract for the year 2020-21.
On the other hand, the Board’s Central Contract Committee, which includes Chief Executive Wasim Khan, Director International Zakir Khan and Head Coach and Chief Selector Misbah-ul-Haq, has finalized the names for the new Central Contract.
Former Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who is not only a captain but also a member of the national team in any format, has been dropped from the A category of the Central Contract.
Earlier, Sarfaraz was part of A category along with T20 captain Babar Azam and league spinner Yasir Shah but now Sarfraz has been placed in C category.
It may be recalled that on October 18, 2019, the Pakistan Cricket Board had appointed Azhar Ali as the captain of the national Test team while the captaincy of the national T20 team was handed over to Babar Azam.
