Punjab government recommends not to ease lockdown in major cities
Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan has said that lockdown in major cities of Punjab has been recommended not to be relaxed. If the federation agrees, lockdown will be maintained in major cities.
Talking to media in Lahore, the provincial information minister said that the code of conduct laid down by the federal government was being fully implemented in Punjab and facilities were being provided to the construction sector.
He said that there was hype about corona virus in major cities of Punjab and the number of victims was increasing.
Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan said that it has been recommended not to relax the lockdown in major cities of Punjab. If the federation agrees, the lockdown will be maintained in major cities.
He said that the corona virus has exposed the performance of the previous rulers in the health sector, while the PML-N and PPP governments have done nothing in the last 40 years.
He further said that when PTI asked us to focus on education and health instead of launching Metro and Orange Line projects, then Al-Sharif and his followers gave us a shut-up call.
Referring to the 18th Amendment, the Provincial Information Minister said that the poor policies of the past rulers have also opened the floodgates of the 18th Amendment. Bilawal bhutto does not the spirit of 18th amendment , he only the knows about making money.
It may be recalled that 194 people have died from Corona in Punjab province so far while the number of infected patients has exceeded 10,000.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced a phased reopening of the lockdown due to corona virus from May 9, while he had announced the opening of small markets and shops.
In addition, the Sindh government has said that businesses, institutions and offices that were closed until May 9 will remain closed.
Shopping malls, restaurants and educational institutions will remain closed in the wake of the decision.
