Lockdown in Islamabad extended till May 31.

The Corona Lockdown in the Federal Capital Territory of Islamabad has been extended till May 31.

According to the notification of the government, in the first phase, construction sector, steel, plastic pipes, electronic devices, paints industry have been opened.

The statement said that small markets will be able to open with the prescribed rules which will be open 5 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm.

In addition, general stores, bakeries, flour mills, dairy shops, meat, fruit shops and ovens have been allowed to remain open all week in the lockdown.

Postal courier, pick-and-drop services are also allowed to open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the lockdown, as well as tire-puncture shops, drivers, hotels, petrol pumps and restaurants.

The notification strongly directs that all individuals must abide by the established government regulations.

The government statement also said that educational institutions, shopping malls, wedding halls, all major commercial centers in the city, major restaurants and hotels will remain closed till May 31.

Hair salons and barber shops will also be closed.

Parks, polo clubs, tennis courts will be allowed to open while implementing SOPs but play areas will also be closed in the parks.

The federal government has announced a phased easing of the lockdown in the country from May 9.

So far, the number of corona cases in Islamabad has reached 641 while the number of deaths is five.
