“I Faced Discrimination During Hollywood Film Shoot,” Shares Adnan Siddiqui
Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui signed up for a project for Hollywood too. He worked for the movie, ‘A Mighty Heart,’ which was shot with co-actors, Angelina Jolie and Irrfan Khan (late). Although, this sounds cool and exciting, yet Adnan himself admits, it wasn’t as he imagined it would be.

In a recent interview with Samina Pirzada, Adnan shared that he faced discrimination during the film’s shoot. The film was shot in India, and all the cast and crew were booked a room in TheTaj Hotel, a prestigious hotel in India, except for Adnan. Instead, his booking was made with the film’s technical crew. He further added that he wasn’t even given proper transport and had to travel in a rickshaw to reach the Taj Hotel for dinner.
To his surprise, even all the western technicians were allowed to stay at the Taj Hotel.
The Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui couldn’t stand this biasedness and confronted the line producer regarding the matter.
“One should never underestimate their own abilities and standards,” said Adnan.
Although he got himself a deluxe room in the Taj Hotel, yet this wasn’t the end of it. The Producer’s assistants asked the star again to move to a smaller room. Adnan Siddiqui was very disappointed and stated that he would pay for the room himself. However, when he went to pay for it, the producer stopped him, as he didn’t know what his assistants were doing behind doors.
The film made a huge success and has been numerously nominated for different awards. This is inspiring but also rather disheartening at the same time.
