Female SHO attacked by Mob in karachi
Citizens became enraged and threw stones at the police after a lockdown violation took place in Orangi Town, Karachi.
Despite the ban in Piriabad area of Orangi Town, Friday prayers were held at the Isfahani Mosque, which was attended by a large number of citizens.
When the police tried to prevent the citizens from attending Friday prayers, the citizens became angry and threw stones at the police which injured the SHO of the local police station.
Police dispersed the mob after the incident. The Civil and Judicial Magistrate took notice of the attack on the female police officer and demanded a prompt report from the DIG West.
According to police, the SHO was acting under the ban of Sindh government and the mob attacked and injured the female SHO, Pir Abad.
Senator Rehman Malik, chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, took notice of the attack on a female SHO in Karachi.
Senator Rehman Malik telephoned the Inspector General (IG) Sindh and inquired about the incident.
Rehman Malik sought IG Sindh report on violence against female SHO and directed strict legal action against those responsible for violence.
Former Interior Minister said that gathering during the lockdown in Karachi and attacking the police are condemned.
On the other hand, the police has registered a case of assault on a female officer at the Piriabad police station, which included rioting and violation of section 144.
