A relief and sweet escape from the over dramatic and over worked dramas- SILSILAY 

FINALLY! A family-oriented drama that highlights pressing issues but presents nothing in an overly dramatic manner. The first episode of Silsilay has been released and it seems to be a breath of fresh air looking nothing less than a classic 90’s movie and every scene seems to be as real as it can get. The first episode kicked off on the 2nd of January at 8:00 on Geo TV and I haven’t seen a more drama free, enjoyable and entertaining serial since decades.

The episode started with the dream sister duo of Hira (Hiba Bukhari ) and Abeeha (Moman Sheikh) playing shenanigans on their cousin Shahzeb (Muneeb Butt). The family moments portrayed in the drama are relatable for almost every viewer giving an overall warm fuzzy and aesthetically pleasing appeal.  Like every other household, there is a stringent Khaala (Saleem Raheel ) who reprimands the two sisters relentlessly for being carefree and silly.

The story is based on the two sisters living at their Khaala’s place because they were abandoned by their father. It advances towards the sisters being put off by their Khaala’s derogatory behavior and Hira , specially, feels sensitive towards it because she feels extremely insecure about living in somebody else home and always being told what to do.  She is also attracted towards her cousin, Jawwad (Junaid Khan), who is currently living abroad. We are definitely excited to see the chemistry build up between these two artists we have an undying affection for.

Over all, the drama seems to be a package owing to the star-studded beautiful cast, the fresh and soothing appeal of the drama, the coherent story well-grounded on the realities of life, the relatable incidents in the family with their bitter sweet memories put together brilliantly and we cannot wait to find out how their lives unfold and what else this drama entails!
